At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, We teamed up with CraveOnline and TNT’s The Last Ship to “conquer the con” by throwing the best party SDCC has ever seen, complete with a DJ set by Grimes, a live performance by MGMT, cocktails, games, skydiving, and fireworks — all of this jam-packed aboard the historic USS Midway, turning the iconic naval vessel into “The Last Ship.” Guests lined up as far as the eye could see for entry to the monumental event.

Upon boarding the USS Midway, guests stepped into a fully branded entryway, immersing themselves into the world of The Last Ship—TNT’s hit new post-apocalyptic series about the crew of a Navy destroyer searching for the cure to a global pandemic. Guests then headed through the similarly themed Science Lab, where footage from the show could be viewed. From there, they had the opportunity to partake in the Laser Maze, a laser-tag style target practice meant to take down intruders who threaten the cure. For a select group, refuge could be found in the TNT-hosted VIP Hangar Bay Lounge.

Meanwhile, all guests were invited to peruse the Captain Morgan Loot Lounge for specialty cocktails—and to then head to the main deck to have their photo taken in front of real fighter jets. If that wasn’t enough for the CraveConquersTheCon party to leave its mark on San Diego Comic-Con, the night came to a climax with a DJ set by Grimes, opening for an exclusive performance from the Grammy Award-winning group MGMT on the CraveOnline stage, followed by an aerial show with skydivers and fireworks.

Celebrities were in abundance, including Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Shane West, Nathan Fillion, Skrillex, Travis Van Winkle, Julie Benz, Grant Bowler, Lucas Till, Charles Michael David, Jason Mewes, Luke Barnett, Phoebe Tonkin, Keahu Kahuaniui, Maitland Ward, Genesis Rodriguez, and many more. 

Friday, July 25, 2014 will forever be known as the night CraveOnline conquered Comic-Con and social media surrounding the annual event in San Diego, CA. The experience garnered over 206MM impressions across top publishers.
